Aleutian Islands- A 6.6 Ritcher Scale strong
earthquake had hit on Aleutian Islands on
Sunday at 7pm without causing any injured
and serious damaged.
Truly, an epicentre was noticed at east
of the village of Nikolski, 40 miles from North
Pacific and also at Anchorage which
located 850 miles from the south west. It caused a three
minutes shook on three fishing villages
of Aleutian Island, the Nikolski, Dutch Harbor and
Unalaska.
"There was some very minor damage at
Nikolski, with items knocked off shelves and small
items damaged." said George Carts.
He said that in the towns of Unalaska,
Dutch Harbor and Nikolski, the three fishing villages
which located on western islands in the
Aleutian chain felt the earthquake strongly. However,
Aleutians
now had settled sparsely.
A total number of 20 aftershocks
were noticed and one of them had a scale
of 5.0.
The officials said these scale was
not powerful enough to cause a tsunami.
Different scale caused different
stage. Official categories scale of 3.5 will caused slight
damage, scale of 4.0 will caused
moderate damage, while scale of 5.0 considered as a
damage. Scale of 6.0 onward
considered as severe damage which scale of 7.0 caused an
earthquake that have an effect on
widespread heavy damage and scale of 8.0 formed a huge
earthquake.
Richter scale was used to measure
ground motion and record seismographs. As a result, each
of a single number increased would
had an effect on increasing the magnitude. For example,
in an earthquake, a scale of 7.5
is 10 times greater than a scale of 6.5.
Luckily,
none of serious damage report was found and no one injured.

Putrajaya- Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, the
prime minister carried out his speech on Malaysia Green Forum 2010 at Sri
Siantan Conference Hall with a commitment of allowing the government to
reiterate its resounding towards environmental sustainability in the
country.
Prime
minister appreciated the action of advancing environmental and landscape issues
in the country by Tun Jeanne Abdullah, the Chairman of Landscape Malaysia who create
a forum for the purpose of using an holistic manner to deal with the environmental
issues in a action‐oriented
network.
Malaysia
Green Forum 2010 would be able to come up with creative, innovative and
pragmatic solutions for today green issues and took full consideration of the
country’s inherent strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Malaysia
been prized with 16 million hectares of tropical forest area and over 73 per
cent of the total forest area had protected as national parks.
Indeed,
Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib announced the formation of the Ministry of Energy, Green
Technology and Water six days after taking office to continue previously
commitment to environmental. Government continued to take cognizance of the
growing need and urgency of green technology towards sustainable development.

greener and more sustainable. I strongly believe it is our generational
responsibility to ensure that we bequeath to our children a Malaysia that is as
